This is my Narrative, describing the different Christmas Markets my family and I would go to when we lived in Germany a few years back. This assignment was for the Kit Runner Unit.
The Book Thief Response paper was a part of my summer work. I'm particularly proud of my diction in this piece, as well as my explanations for what I thought of the writing and the way Zusak chose to build his characters.
Using the literary device apostrophe, I wrote a poem centered on the scars I have and describing how and when each one occurred, and how they have impacted my life. I included the poem itself, as well as the reflection on each stanza. This was from the Kite Runner Unit.
While not my favorite piece, I thoroughly enjoyed the Foster section, which taught me a lot about how to understand literature in a way that I never did before. This paper, on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, is my take on how you can apply Foster's theories on Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet's story.
These paintings were for the Handmaid's Tale Unit, in which we were tasked with creating an artistic project that showed some sort of theme from the central pieces of literature that we studied. I chose to work with Franz Kafka's A Hunger Artist. I found the story fascinating. You can see the descriptions of each painting in the caption below the photo.
This piece was a commentary on the relationships in The Kite Runner compared with those in different poems in the Metamorphosis Unit.
This was the script from my performance (with my group) of a scene from Othello. This was performed with Chandler Schmaltz; we were supposed to use a "movie" theme, like comedy or drama. In our case, we used a "scary movie" theme. This was from the Othello Unit.
This was a movie review for the Cuckoo's Nest Unit of Ken Kesey's Cuckoo's Nest. We watched the movie after reading the book in class.
